Anonymous asked: Why does it seem that Pentecostals are some of the most judgemental people? I've been going to a Pente church for almost 10 years now and I'm leaving the church and moving in with my bf. Over the last year, I've never felt more unloved in church.
Listen, when we choose something that is wrong instead of doing what we know is right, we are asking for hurt feelings and trouble. Rather than blaming people who really aren’t judging you, examine your own life. What are you doing? What are you blaming yourself for? Is it easier to blame your church, or take responsibility for your own actions?
You are admitting that you are choosing to do what you know is not acceptable, moral, modest for a young woman of Christ to do, but the Church is wrong because they are telling you not to do it… If you really loved your church, if you really loved God, you would humble yourself before God, admit you are in the wrong, and stop being childish in response to people telling you that you are choosing to live in sin. All Christians have to grow up in Christ. We all have to mature in our spirits. Our choices that we make from day to day is our own fault, not that of anyone else. The Church cannot take the fault for you feeling unloved if you are the one who is choosing not to love the Church.
You don’t have to listen to my advice. You can toss it out the window and delete it from your mind. But I have not known any Apostolic Pentecostal congregation that is unloving, ungenerous, and purely judgemental. Examine your heart, and your choices. Either live like a follower of Christ, or live like lovers of the world. You cannot be both. You cannot expect not to feel conviction if what you are doing is wrong both by the teaching of the Church, and the Bible.
